There are many local attractions, including the Lake District, which is just over 20 minutes away, where you can find the Ullswater Steamers, the delightful Pooley Bridge, leading onto Glenridding and the famous Kirkstone Pass.
Once over the Kirkstone Pass you will find yourself in Ambleside and the heart of the Lakes, including Lake Windermere.
Keswick and Derwentwater are just over 30 minutes away, so an evening at The Theatre by the Lake or a walk up Skiddaw are easily achievable from the park.
